Royal Antwerp have sent a classy message to Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos after his show of sportsmanship in Thursday’s Europa League tie.
In the first half, as Morelos was bearing down on goal Antwerp defender Jeremy Gelin pulled up with what looked like a hamstring problem.
Morelos stopped the game and made sure the defender was able to receive treatment immediately which won plenty of plaudits from the Antwerp players on the night.

On Friday morning, the Belgian side tweeted a message about Morelos after his show of sportsmanship at Ibrox.
The club tweeted, “One can only admire Alfredo Morelos’ sportsmanship last night…”, which was followed by the shaking hands emoji.
This is a classy gesture from Antwerp after El Bufalo spent his evening dismantling their defence and securing a place in the last 16 for Rangers.
The only people who weren’t very happy with Morelos’ actions were Ianis Hagi and Ryan Kent who had broken forward and were looking to benefit from the attack.
Questions would’ve been asked if Rangers had lost yesterday but in any case, Morelos did the right thing.
For a player who has been twice banned by the SFA this season, you wouldn’t think Morelos would be the type to kick the ball out of play when an opposition player gets injured.
This is extra surprising when you note the position he was in when the injury occurred.
He could’ve ran through and put the ball in the net for a second time on the night but he decided to do exactly what everyone thought he wouldn’t do.
We’ve been wanting our star man to change his ways for a while now and last night was the biggest indicator that he has indeed turned a corner.
