Chris Sutton was impressed by Rangers’ performance on Thursday night as they blew Antwerp to pieces in the Europa League.
Steven Gerrard’s men won 5-2 at Ibrox courtesy of goals by Alfredo Morelos, Nathan Patterson, Ryan Kent, Borna Barisic and Cedric Itten, meaning they won 9-5 on aggregate across the two Europa League legs.
As the match finished, ex-Celtic striker Sutton took to Twitter to deliver his instant reaction to the seven-goal thriller. He said: “Well done to Rangers and Steven Gerrard, very impressive once again.”

What a stunning win that was.
Rangers have been very, very good this season but some of the attacking play we witnessed against Antwerp was breathtaking.
Morelos was unplayable and was easily our man of the match as he was involved in all four goals before he was substituted off to make way for Itten.
Patterson’s goal will be the big talking point though.
Last week, it seemed as though the young right-back’s career at Ibrox could be over but here was substituted on at half time against Antwerp and within 17 seconds, latched onto a superb pass by Morelos to score.
That’s how you make the perfect apology.
It was quite controversial that Patterson was in the squad but we’re glad he was as he helped shore up the right-hand side, where Leon Balogun struggled in the first half, and got the goal that sparked the amazing second-half performance.
Let’s see who we get in the next round. An English team would be nice because if we play like that, you’d fancy Gerrard’s men against anyone.
