Steven Gerrard has made four changes to his starting line-up as Rangers return to Premiership action against Dundee United at Ibrox on Sunday.

Ahead of kick-off, Rangers confirmed via their official Twitter account that Leon Balogun, Ryan Jack, Ianis Hagi and Ryan Kent have all returned to the starting line-up after failing to start at Antwerp in the Europa League.

James Tavernier and Kemar Roofe miss out with injuries they sustained against Antwerp on Thursday night while midfield duo Scott Arfield and Glen Kamara both drop to the bench.

Rangers have won four of their last five league matches by one goal to nil so it would be nice to see Gerrard’s men rediscover their goalscoring nous against Dundee United. Morelos’ inclusion in the starting line-up should help in that regard.

Micky Mellon’s side have won their last two matches in the league, beating Ross County and Livingston.

However, United’s decent run of form should not be anything of concern for the Gers, who are still aiming to go the entire Premiership season without a defeat.

The runaway leaders can go 18 points ahead of second-placed Celtic, who play later against Ross County, if they beat Mellon’s side at Ibrox in the 3pm kick-off.

It remains to be seen how the Light Blues will perform without right-back and captain James Tavernier, who misses his first game of the season in all competitions after suffering an injury at Antwerp on Thursday night.

Tavernier had played all 41 matches up until this weekend but Leon Balogun starts at right-back over him due to Nathan Patterson being out of the picture due to his COVID breach last week.

Patterson will be ruing his antics as much as anyone because there’s no doubt he would have started against the Tangerines this weekend due to Tavernier’s unfortunate setback.

In other Rangers news, Michael Stewart delivered his thoughts on the win over Antwerp.
