Alan Rough was left gobsmacked at numerous decisions in Rangers 4-3 win against Royal Antwerp on Thursday evening in the Europa League.
The Belgian side were given one penalty, with the Bears being handed two that eventually decided the game through Borna Barisic.
Rough has questioned all three but claimed that Lior Refaelov and Alfredo Morelos both made the most of contact in the box.
Speaking on PLZ Soccer’s The Football Show on Friday, Rough was shocked by most of the decisions on Thursday evening.
“I was gobsmacked by two or three decisions,” he said.
“Not to take anything away from Rangers, they thoroughly deserved it. I thought the Davis one was a strange one.
“Again, I thought Morelos made the most of his penalty as well. You’d have to talk me through the last penalty as well, because where I was, where did it even hit him, surely his hands are down.”
There were numerous contentious incidents.
The Refaelov challenge was simply ludicrous, Steven Davis got the slightest of touches on the Israelian, but he went down as if he had been clattered.
We got our own back when Morelos won our first spot-kick, and Barisic’s celebration for the second summed up everyone’s mood after a tough 90 minutes.
There are four away goals on the table already, and Antwerp won’t feel confident turning up to Ibrox next Thursday, and that is a huge boost for the Gers.
Rough made sense of the first two incidents, but that final one was clear, and hopefully, he won’t be asked to analyse any further decisions next week.
