Rangers have issued a statement regarding Kemar Roofe’s recent SFA charge and suspension, but many fans have been left unsatisfied.
The club previously spoke out about the SFA’s inconsistencies when it comes to retroactive punishment.
Earlier this month Steven Gerrard said he accepted Alfredo Morelos’ suspension, but said he and the directors were trying “to find a way to move forward and improve the system”.
Roofe, like Morelos, has been suspended following a review by the SFA, despite picking up a yellow card for his challenge against St. Johnstone – which means the referee saw it.
The club focused on that incident being cited despite having already been covered by officials.
There seems to be real confusion within the game regarding which incidents are cited and those that are not. This confusion solidifies our viewpoint regarding the current system.

The statement shows Rangers are less than satisfied with the actions of the SFA, but for many supporters they have not gone far enough.
Some feel the Roofe incident is just the latest example of bias taken against their club.
For example, the SFA failed to investigate a bad challenge on Glenn Kamara by Hibs defender Darren McGregor in our recent clash.
Only Morelos was punished after that match, which highlights the inconsistencies.
The club being outspoken against such poor decision-making is perhaps the only way we will see things balanced out.
As a result, we hope for a more assertive statement on the matter in the coming days.
Here is how Gers fans have reacted to the club’s official statement.
Too soft again. Walking all over us.

Give us examples then. Useless statement without them.

Defend your player! Grow a back bone. Call the SFA out. Cheats. Plain and simple.

There is no confusion. Its trial by a Celtic minded media, assisted by a corrupt SFA. Call it out and don't sit on the fence

Do something about it then.

There’s no confusion, if you wear a blue top you get cited and if you wear green and white you don’t
— James rfc (@jamesreid77) February 10, 2021
Poor retort from the club

There is no confusion. It's one rule for Rangers and another for everyone else
— James (@FPofCdAz) February 10, 2021
It is not confusion. It is calculated. The SFA are corrupt. They do this and gets way with it. When fans are allowed back, Rangers must boycott all away games and offer Rangers fans a way to watch at home, and crumble Scottish Football. All teams will suffer.

That statement is a slap in the face to fans who have put a lot of money into the club this season while having to watch from home listening to scum media attacking our club. Are the board really this disconnected from the fan base? @RangersFCSLO

What is the point in these tweets? I’ve been waiting for an action from the club for 30 mins! 🤷🏻♂️
