Rangers fans are absolutely delighted that the club has announced a new official partnership with German side Hamburger SV.

The club sent out a tweet on Wednesday announcing the news saying, “A long-term friendship becomes official.

“Built on the close ties between the two sets of fans which have existed since the 1970s, @HSV and #RangersFC have entered into an official club partnership.”

You can expect commercial opportunities and academy links to follow, and some fans want to see annual friendlies between the two sides too.

Many fans have already been over to the club for games and are looking forward to one of the best away days in the future.

Rangers’ Fan Liaison Officer, Greg Marshall said, “We are looking forward to providing great fan engagement opportunities and strengthening the already strong links that our supporters share.

“This partnership originates in fan culture and we are delighted to be able to move forward and work together knowing that this exciting new partnership will appeal greatly to fans of Rangers and HSV alike.”

One fan went as far as to say it is “better than 55” but we’ll put that down to a poor joke.

Nothing is more important that getting the title back to where it belongs.

However, this is great news and just more evidence that Rangers are doing the business off the pitch as well as on it.

Hopefully, when fans are back we can look forward to home and away friendlies against Hamburger.
