Rangers fans are talking about Scott Arfield as the midfielder is close to a return from injury.
He had been ever-present for the Gers this season and made 20 appearances before being sidelined in December.
Glenn Kamara and Joe Aribo have stepped up in his absence and we remain unbeaten despite Arfield being an important player for us.
Steven Gerrard will have a difficult decision to make when Arfield regains fitness, as there are a number of midfielders playing well currently.
But according to Stevie G, Arfield has set the standard this season.
After a 3-2 win over Standard Liege in December the Rangers boss said that “if you play like Scott Arfield you’re in the team”.
That shows how highly he rates Arfield, so we think he will be back in the starting line-up once he overcomes his injury.
Gerrard has confirmed that his return could come against Royal Antwerp next week and that could have a positive effect on his teammates.
If Aribo, Kamara and Steven Davis know their places are under pressure it could bring about improved performances.
That is an encouraging idea, and it should serve us well in our bid to progress in Europe.
Arfield has shown he likes the Europa League in the past, with three goals in the competition, so hopefully, he makes an impact in Belgium.
Here are some of the things being said about the midfielder by Gers fans delighted that he’s almost back…
We have genuinely missed him. π₯

Everyone talks about how understated Jack is to the way we play but what about Scott Arfield man. Canny wait for them two to finally start together.

Good point. Hopefully Arfield is back soon – he is pencilled in for the Antwerp games, fingers crossed he is on the bench for Killie at the weekend.
