Kris Commons has slammed Rangers winger Ryan Kent for his performances in the Scottish Premiership this season.
The English winger has only scored six league goals in his 28 appearances, also failing to score in the Europa League campaign.
Commons claimed that Kent has to do more, despite being one of the best players in the country at the start of the season under Steven Gerrard.
Speaking to the Daily Mail, relayed by the Glasgow Times, Commons claimed that the winger hasn’t done anywhere near enough this season.
“Ryan Kent is one who can certainly do more,” he said.
“He was arguably the best player in the country over the first couple of months of the season before James Tavernier took over.
“Kent has only scored one league goal since November. He’s chipped in with a couple of assists since then, but you do expect more from an outlay of £7million.
“Six league goals in 28 games isn’t exactly anything to write home about. Particularly when Alfredo Morelos isn’t in the team, Kent needs to step up and offer more.”
Kent would certainly love to be scoring more often.
The 23-year-old has still been involved in 12 goals though this season, better than the likes of Alfredo Morelos in the Scottish Premiership.
Gerrard has formed a squad rather than a team of individuals, and they are all reasons as to why we have been so successful when the likes of Celtic continue to embarrass themselves.
Commons would take Kent at Parkhead in the blink of an eye, but he wouldn’t settle for anything less than the Bears as they charge towards 55 this season.
