‘MOTM’, ‘Incredible’, ‘Amazing’ – Many Rangers fans wowed by one player in 1-1 v Hamilton

Rangers fans were blown away by goalkeeper Allan McGregor after he impressed in the 1-1 draw away at Hamilton on Sunday afternoon.

It was a turgid performance by the Gers, who would have easily found themselves behind and losing the game if it wasn’t for McGregor’s outstanding display in between the sticks.

The 39-year-old, who made his 379th Rangers appearance in South Lanarkshire, made a number of saves to keep the home side’s attackers at bay.

He had to be on his toes in the first half when Connor Goldson’s poor pass wasn’t controlled by Filip Helander, allowing Bruce Anderson to have an attempt at goal.

McGregor also had to make a double save to deny Ross McMann and Stuart Callachan.

As per stats by Sky Sports Main Event, McGregor hasn’t had to make more saves in any Premiership match this season than he did on the plastic pitch at Hamilton.

It’s an awful showcase of how badly Rangers played against Brian Rice’s side but thankfully, we do have the best goalkeeper in Scotland in our team to keep the unbeaten run going.

A couple of Gers fans dubbed McGregor as their “MOTM” while another thanked god for the shot-stopper.

McGregor shouldn’t be winning man of the match against Hamilton.

However, it just shows that having a top goalkeeper can lead to him being the most important player in the squad on days like Sunday.

If he didn’t play, we’ve no doubt the Gers would have lost that match.
