‘No longer responding’ – Club chief claims Rangers linked forward is refusing new deal

KV Oostende Sporting Director Gauthier Ganaye has explained that Rangers linked forward Fashion Sakala is reusing to sign a new deal with the club.

The Daily Record reported that the Gers were interested in signing the forward on a pre-contract agreement but this move never materialised.

The 23-year-old still may move on in the summer however with Ganaye claiming that Sakala’s agent is no longer speaking with the club about a new deal.

Ganaye told the club website, “We have made three to four offers since last summer.

“Fortunately, Fashion is in Oostende and I am convinced that he can take further steps under [manager] Alexander Blessin.

“However, I feel that his agent is not really respecting KV Oostende as he is no longer responding to our offers.

“On the transfer deadline day we received a few more offers for him, but in the end there was no transfer.”

Rangers

There is bound to be interest in Rangers’ attacking players this summer and if the club are unable to hold onto their prized assets then replacements will be required.

Sakala has 12 goals in 22 league games this season as he impresses clubs ahead of a potential summer move.

With Premier League clubs also sniffing around it looks very unlikely that the forward will want to remain in Belgium.

Rangers hold a trump card over many Premier League clubs though as they should be able to offer the forward the chance to play Champions League football.

This makes Ibrox a very desirably destination for young players and if we remain interested in Sakala then he may be tempted by a move to Glasgow.
