‘Bring him back’, ‘Doing bits’ – These Bears thrilled as footage of former Gers star emerges
Graham Dorrans scored a brilliant goal for Western Sydney Wanderers in the A-League on Saturday and plenty of Rangers fans have been discussing the midfielder.
The Scot is entering the twilight of his career but showed he still has moments of magic left in him.
Dorrans only played 23 times for Rangers but made a good impression on the fanbase, judging by some of the reactions to his goal.
He made nine goal contributions at Ibrox before injury cut short his playing time, which is something that has plagued Dorrans throughout his career.
As for his goal on Saturday, the midfielder picked up the ball in his own half and launched a solo counter-attack.
He beat one defender before charging down on goal, then lifted the ball beyond goalkeeper Adam Federici to equalise.
Dorrans still has quality but we very much doubt he’d get in the current squad.
One fan said, “Bring him back to lift the trophy” but we think James Tavernier might well have something to say about that after his season.
Another summed up what we think when he said, “I was over the moon when he signed for us, I genuinely thought we were getting a great player, I was as gutted as anyone when he got done in a tackle and it basically ended his career at Rangers, good to see him scoring here.”
Below are some of the responses from Bears to Dorrans’ latest exploits…
