Steven Gerrard drops exciting update on Jack Simpson & Scott Wright ahead of Hamilton clash
Steven Gerrard has shared that Scott Wright and Jack Simpson are both available for Rangers’ upcoming clash against Hamilton.
The Bears travel to the Fountain of Youth Stadium on Sunday looking to replicate that famous 8-0 victory in the reverse fixture earlier this season.
With Wright and Simpson available, the only absentees for the trip remain, Jermain Defoe, Scott Arfield and Alfredo Morelos.
Speaking to the media on Friday afternoon as relayed on the Bears’ official Twitter account, Gerrard dropped the exciting squad reveal.
“Jack Simpson trained with the team for the first time today and we could quite possibly see both Jack and Scott Wright at the weekend but I haven’t picked my squad yet,” he said.
“They are both fit, ready and available which is a positive.”
This is brilliant news.
The quicker Rangers can get both Wright and Simpson fully firing the better, as they can only make the squad stronger during this incredible run of form this season.
Wright was on the bench in the 1-0 win over St Johnstone, so he is surely guaranteed to be involved on Sunday, potentially earning his debut after another few days of training.
Simpson could also come onto the bench, although he would likely have to replace either Calvin Bassey and Nathan Patterson, who have both impressed when called upon.
The squad is only getting stronger, and that will send out a real warning to the rest of the Scottish Premiership, who could be predicting the worst.
