Kris Boyd delivers 5-word response when asked about Gers winning title at Celtic Park
Rangers could be handed the opportunity to win the Premiership title at Celtic Park in the next old Firm clash.
If both teams win their games ahead of the next meeting on Sunday, March 21, the game could end up being the title decider.
Talking on the latest episode of the Scottish Football Podcast Kris Boyd was asked what he made of the possibility of Rangers winning the title at Celtic Park.
He said with an obvious glint in his eye, “I’m looking forward to it.”
Boyd went on to say of the Old Firm clash, “It’s always a great occasion, they’re fantastic games to play in.
“Everyone is speaking about Rangers going the season unbeaten. Celtic will be looking at that as an opportunity to stop Rangers doing that.”
Andy Walker said, “The last thing Celtic will want is for their biggest rivals to come to their own park and clinch the title.
“Celtic supporters will want to see their team score a goal and then put in a level of performance much more than they did at Ibrox.
“There’s still a lot of Celtic to prove.”
Scoring is the best Celtic can hope for
it’s come to something when former Celtic player Walker says that the Celtic fans will just be looking forward to scoring a goal against Rangers.
The title race is long done and dusted but winning it at Celtic Park would really be the cherry on top.
That might happen. There are no fans, so no reason to look at shifting the game.
And we can only imagine how charged the game will be if the title is riding on it.
Ultimately, it doesn’t matter. The title is now just a matter of time and staying unbeaten doesn’t really matter in the scheme of things.
Don’t get us wrong. It would be brilliant to be the last team to win the title as invincibles, but losing a game isn’t going to take the sheen off one of the best seasons for the Gers in modern times.
