‘Absolute disgrace’, ‘Agenda is clear’ – Many Bears outraged by major SFA announcement

Rangers forward Kemar Roofe has been charged by the SFA for his challenge on St Johnstone’s Murray Davidson on Wednesday.

The striker could now face retrospective action, despite only being booked at the time in the 1-0 win at Ibrox.

Alfredo Morelos is currently one game into his three-match ban this month, and Roofe could be set to follow his forward partner on the sidelines.

Rangers

Steven Gerrard reacted to the ban in his press conference on Friday, admitting that is “frustrating” with the trip to Hamilton only days away.

“I haven’t thought much about the tackle as I thought the referee had dealt with it. He was five yards away and has obviously seen the incident and gave a yellow card.”

This is true.

Given the referee dealt with the incident at the time, we thought the matter had passed, but the SFA have decided it constituted to “violent conduct” and it could lead to a two-game ban.

There have been plenty of incidents similar this season that have gone unpunished, think of Curtis Main in the Aberdeen game on Borna Barisic.

Rangers

Many Rangers fans have reacted to the breaking news, and it is fair to say that they are outraged at yet another shocking SFA decision.

The majority claimed that this is another example of bias against the Bears, and it would be hard for anyone to disagree at this stage.
