Tam McManus makes Rangers-SPFL claim, predicts ‘massive exodus’ at Celtic

Tam McManus has predicted that Rangers will remain favourites for the Scottish Premiership in 2021-22, continuing this seasons’ success.

The PLZ pundit believes that there will be a “mass exodus” of players at Celtic to try and prevent that, but that won’t make a difference in his mind.

Rangers are currently charging towards 55 and will want to carry on adding to that inevitable title in the years to come.

Speaking on PLZ Soccer’s The Football Show on Monday, McManus backed the Bears to start their own run of dominance in Scotland.

“There is going to be a massive turnover at Celtic Park in the summer,” he said.

“You look at Rangers now, they’re playing really, really well, they’ve had a great season, but it’s taken them three years to get there. It’s taken three years for Steven Gerrard to build up and to get the squad he wants.

“I think it’s a big ask for a Celtic manager to come in, and maybe have to bring in 10-12 players because there’s going to be a massive exodus.

“I think the pressure is definitely on Celtic next season as opposed to Rangers, they’ve got a settled squad. I think that Rangers would be favourites against next season to win the league.”

Rangers

McManus is spot on, but this may be one of the most obvious predictions we’ve ever seen.

Rangers and Gerrard have built an amazing squad capable of dominating both Glasgow and Scotland for many years to come.

Celtic are in a real mess at this moment.

A 20-point gap at this stage of the season is unheard of in the Scottish Premiership, and the Old Firm rivals could get even worst before things get better.

Odsonne Edouard is clearly one of the better players in that squad, and it is hard to imagine him sticking around past this season – making that side significantly weaker.

Recruitment has been the massive difference between both the Bears and Celtic, and that was made clear once again last month.

Scott Wright and Jack Simpson have come in on the cheap, and Neil Lennon was left pulling out his hair with nothing happening – life is much rosier at Ibrox.
