Rangers table multiple last-ditch bids to sign player today – report

Rangers have made multiple late January bids to sign Scott Wright from Aberdeen today (Monday) with the transfer window set to close at 11pm, according to the Daily Record.

The newspaper claims that none of the Gers’ bids have matched Aberdeen’s valuation of the 23-year-old, who will head to Ibrox permanently in the summer with a pre-contract already agreed.

However, Rangers are eager to sign Wright now and have made numerous efforts to sign him but, so far, all of their offers have been kicked into touch by no-nonsense Dons chairman Dave Cormack.

Wright player at the wrong time

It does not seem as though Steven Gerrard will be able to sign Wright today unless Rangers put in a very good bid for the attacking midfielder.

It is a shame because he could add something to the squad at Ibrox but at least we know for a fact that he’ll be heading to Govan at the end of the season.

Derek McInnes has shown that even though Wright has agreed to sign Rangers, he will still play him at Pittodrie.

He started against St Johnstone and came off the bench at Livingston on Saturday so there are still opportunities for the ex-Scotland Under-21 international to develop in the North-East.

Let’s just hope fans are not allowed in at Pittodrie before the end of the season though because some of the reaction to Wright’s decision to join the Rangers has been appalling.

We’ve all seen how Ryan Jack has been treated by those in the Granite City.

There’s no need for some of that abuse to be aimed at Wright too.

In other Rangers news, the Gers are in advanced talks to sign another player.
