‘Rangers are coming’, ‘Greatest season ever’ – These Bears react to latest statement from Celtic

Something had to give at Celtic and chief executive Peter Lawwell is the first to move after it was announced that he would retire at the end of the season.

That’s the end of an era at Celtic as Lawwell has been there 17 years.

It’s making Dave King’s prediction that Celtic will fold “like a pack of cards” if Rangers win one title very prescient.

Rangers are 23 points ahead of Lawwell’s side and still unbeaten in the league and in Europe.

Plenty of Gers fans reacted to the latest statement from Celtic – they’ve almost released more than they’ve had wins this season – with one summing up our feelings perfectly.

He said, “Lawwell is retiring, Lennon is on his last legs a clear out of the SFA and SPFL and Rangers winning the title would make the greatest season ever… If Carlsberg could do seasons.”

Another supporter brought up Kings’ words saying, “As Dave King said and was roundly mocked for at the time but one Rangers title win and they will fold like a deck of cards.”

We don’t think that Lawwell will be the only victim of a catastrophic season for Celtic.

We want Lennon to stay on for as long as possible but we can’t see him lasting past the summer.

As far as that goes, we can but hope.

In the meantime, here are the best reactions from Rangers fans to the latest in a long line of statements from Celtic…
