‘You can see it’ – Kris Boyd slams Rangers ace despite 1-0 win v Hibernian
Kris Boyd has slammed Rangers forward Alfredo Morelos for his collision with Hibernian defender Ryan Porteus on Wednesday evening.
Morelos appeared to stamp on Porteus after a clearance, something which replays eventually cleared up and made it obvious that he had.
The Sky Sports pundit admitted he was “very lucky” not to get a red card at Easter Road, with the officials in great positions to see what happened.
Speaking during the half-time interval on Sky Sports, Boyd couldn’t understand why Morelos had to do what he did.
“It’s a red card,” he said.
“There’s no getting away from it. I just don’t understand, it was the exact same at Tannadice, he’s got away with one.
“Kevin Clancey has got a great view of it there, I just don’t understand why he needs to do it. I can’t work it out, people can tell me he’s trying to get out the road of him – he’s not, you can see it right there.
“He’s very lucky to still be on this pitch.”
How many times will we need to keep having this discussion?
It is getting to the point where Morelos is clearly not learning, and it could eventually cost the Bears in these crucial games as they charge towards 55 with an invincible season on the line.
Having said that, he does seem to thrive when the game has an edge too it.
Morelos opened the scoring only minutes into the second half, and the Hibs fans will have been left fuming that it was him – something that brings a great smile to our faces.
El Bufalo needs to learn quickly, but as long as he continues to find the back of the net, Steven Gerrard may find it hard to change that ruthless streak in his game.
