‘Wonderful’ – Sky Sports pundit blown away by ‘Incredible’ Rangers ace after win v Hibs

Kris Boyd has been blown away by the impact Rangers midfielder Steven Davis continues to have at Ibrox this season.

The Northern Irish veteran recently reached his 300th game for the Bears and started once again in Wednesday night’s clash with Hibernian.

Davis was influential once again at Easter Road, playing his part as Alfredo Morelos slammed home the winner in the second-half.

Speaking to Sky Sports before the Hibs clash, Boyd was full of praise for his former teammate for what he has achieved in the game.

“He’s a fantastic player,” he said.

“You hear of certain players being leaders on the pitch, they don’t shout – he doesn’t need to shout, he sets the standard, he sets the tempo with the way he trains and the way he behaves.

“He’s just an incredible professional, and he deserves everything he gets because he’s a wonderful, wonderful football player.”

It’s been a phenomenal journey for Davis.

The 36-year-old was already a Bears legend before his second stint at Ibrox, having won six pieces of silverware and taking home the Player of the Year award back in 2012.

One way to cement that legacy is to bring home 55 this season and then push on to start a new period of dominance for the Light Blues in Scotland.

Steven Gerrard has built his side around Davis, and next to Glen Kamara, it would have been easy to go under-the-radar, but he has stepped up massively and continues to play a massive role for the Bears.
