Rangers in hunt to sign Germany-born winger with habit of scoring worldies – report

Rangers are among a number of clubs who are in the hunt to sign Rochdale winger Kwadwo Baah, according to The Athletic journalist Sam Lee.

Writing on The Athletic website on Thursday, Lee reported that West Ham, Bayern Munich and Juventus are also interested in signing the 18-year-old, as well as a number of clubs in the English Championship.

West Ham have reportedly made a bid for the Germany-born teenager but he is out of contract at the end of the season and that means Rangers could make an approach to sign him on a pre-contract deal.

It is understood that Rochdale are willing to sell the young talent before the end of this month.

Rochdale sensation should be high on Stevie G’s list

Baah has been in great form at Rochdale in England’s League One this season with the teenager scoring three goals and supplying two assists in 17 appearances across all competitions.

Two of those goals came in a 4-4 draw with Charlton earlier this month when he cut inside from the left to produce spectacular finishes.

According to Soccer AM, Baah has “a habit of scoring absolute worldies”.

Lee describes Baah as a winger who “who predominately cuts in from the left but can also play on the right”.

He does sound quite a bit like Ryan Kent and with the Ibrox winger likely to attract attention in the summer transfer window, Baah might be a good long-term alternative to the former Liverpool man.

It’s not every day you see Rangers mentioned alongside Juventus and Bayern Munich in pursuit of a player.

Baah was born in Stuttgart in Germany [transfermarkt] so Bayern might have an advantage in that regard but if the player wants to get a decent chance of first-team football, he might be better off considering Ibrox.
