Rangers quoted 300k to make deal happen this month – report
Bournemouth want 300k to let Nnamdi Ofoborh join Rangers this month as the Gers agree a pre-contract deal, according to the Daily Record.
The Ibrox club want to sign Cherries pair Ofoborh and Jack Simpson with the Daily Record claiming that both players have agreed pre-contract deals that will see them move to Rangers in the summer.
However, Steven Gerrard wants Ofoborh at Ibrox this month and Bournemouth have reportedly set the terms for this potential deal.
The Daily Record claim that Rangers are looking at bringing Ofoborh to Ibrox this month to aid in their title pursuit.
Bournemouth are looking for 300k for the Nigerian midfielder as they themselves are targeting a successful second half of the season that would see them promoted to the Premier League.
A winter deal for Simpson looks less likely with Gerrard keen to boost his midfield options in the second half of the season.
Rangers’ current players proved that they still know how to batter a side as they smashed Ross County with a 5-0 win on Saturday.
This win moved the Gers 23 points clear at the top of the table as the Scottish Premiership title continues to look like it will inevitably return to Ibrox in the near future.
Rangers don’t really need new recruits this month with the squad still unbeaten in the league and most players in good form.
New signings for next season would be a luxury with the club already planning next year’s title defence.
It would no doubt be a boost to have Ofoborh come in this month and perhaps Gerrard is wanting more midfield cover following the recent injury to Ryan Jack.
Jack missed the Light Blues’ last nine league games but he returned against the Staggies and marked his comeback with a goal in the 5-0 rout.
With the transfer window closing in a week’s time, we should find out shortly if the Gers will fork out the money to sign Ofoborh this month.
In other Rangers news, these fans were blown away by one player’s performance v Ross County.
