Helander starts, Jack and Roofe on bench – Confirmed Rangers XI v Ross County
Steven Gerrard has elected to make just the one change to his Rangers side to face Ross County at Ibrox with Filip Helander replacing Leon Balogun in defence.
The Gers will still be smarting from their draw against Motherwell last weekend and will be hoping to return to scintillating form at home to lowly Ross Country.
Gerrard has resisted the urge to make wholesale changes with centre back Helander the only change to the side announced on the club’s Twitter account ahead of kick-off.
Allan McGregor keeps his place in goal with Helander joining the backline of James Tavernier, Connor Goldson and Borna Barisic.
In midfield, Joe Aribo, Steven Davis and Glen Kamara sit behind a front three of Ianis Hagi, Ryan Kent and Alfredo Morelos.
Ryan Jack and Kemar Roofe return to the bench after their injury absences and both will be looking to get on the pitch to gain some crucial first-team minutes.
Rangers have the chance to extend their lead at the top of the Scottish Premiership to 23 points with Old Firm rivals Celtic not in action until they host Hamilton Academical on January 27, albeit they will have three games in hand.
Gerrard’s side have an emphatic recent record against Ross County and have not dropped points since being held 1-1 in February 2017.
In fact, the Light Blues have hit 13 without reply in the last five meetings between the sides as they have asserted their dominance in Scotland.
The visit of County should pose little danger given they are in 10th position in the Premiership and have only won twice in their last 10 games.
Rangers, meanwhile, remain unbeaten in the league this season and will be aiming to keep that record intact.
The return of Jack and Roofe to the squad is early cause for celebration.
In other Rangers news, Jack Wilshere gives firm answer on reports of Gers interest in him.
