'Kent's replacement?' - Some Rangers react as 'Talented' player similar to Sadio Mane is linked

Rangers fans have been reacting on Twitter after it was reported the Premiership leaders are lining up a bid for Anderlecht attacker Francis Amuzu.

Belgian news outlet Voetbal24 has reported this week that the Gers are ready to “make an offer that cannot be refused” for the 21-year-old left-winger.

Amuzu has made 17 league appearances for Anderlecht this season, scoring one goal and supplying one assist in the process.

Although he’s been key for the Brussels club, Voetbal24’s report suggests they might have no choice but to sell the Belgium Under-21 international due to financial issues.

Rangers do seem capable of being able to swoop in and buy Amuzu to strengthen Steven Gerrard’s attacking options.

He could do with another winger being added to the squad because Jordan Jones’ career at Ibrox looks dead and buried after he broke COVID protocols and landed himself with a lengthy ban.

Speculation linking Amuzu with a move to Govan has piqued the interest of a number of Rangers fans on Twitter.

One suggests he could be a Ryan Kent “replacement” with the winger regularly linked with a move south of the border while another claims Amuzu is a “similar style to Sadio Mane“.

Here is a selection of their tweets:

We don’t want to lose Kent. He’s had a tough couple of months but he’s shown that he’s a top player in Scottish football when he’s on top of his game.

Howver, we might have to sell some players in the summer to balance the books and if Kent is one of them, we can understand.

Amuzu might be viewed as a replacement but it remains to be seen how much the Belgian attacker would cost the Light Blues and whether selling Kent and buying him would make sense financially.

Either way, anyone who’s compared to Liverpool star Mane would be someone we’d like to see at Ibrox.

In other Rangers news, the Light Blues are closing in on a deal to sign this ex-Premier League player.
