‘Immense boost’ – Steven Gerrard confirms fantastic news for Rangers fans
Steven Gerrard has confirmed that Ryan Jack is back and in the Rangers squad for the game against Ross County at the weekend.
He called that an “immense boost” for Rangers and said that the midfielder can “help us moving forward massively.”
Gerrard also said that Nikola Katic and Scott Arfield are “progressing well”, with the latter set for a potential return in early February.
Kemar Roofe is set for a late fitness test ahead of the game.
Gerrard was talking in his pre-match press conference ahead of a rare 3pm Saturday kick-off in the Premiership.
Fantastic news
Jack has been a big miss and it’s great to finally have him back.
We don’t see him starting. After so much time out he needs to be treated with kid gloves and a place on the bench. He hasn’t played since the 4-0 win against Aberdeen back in November.
If we can get the game put to bed early, Jack can come on for some valuable minutes.
It’s proof of the strength of the Rangers squad that we’ve been able to carry on at the top without him.
In nine league games since, we’ve won eight and drawn one, conceding just four goals and winning five games to nil.
But these are the gruelling months now and his strength and energy in midfield will be “immense” as Gerrard said.
We hope Roofe can get through his late fitness test. He’s been another big miss for us and we’re hoping to see him on the bench tomorrow, too.
