‘100%’, ‘Absolute tank’ – Many Rangers fans wowed by Sky Sports journo transfer update
Rangers fans are delighted by a report which claims that the club is interested in Bournemouth duo Jack Simpson and Nnamdi Ofoborh.
Sky Sports journalist Mark McAdam reported via his personal Twitter account on Thursday afternoon that Steven Gerrard is a “long-time admirer” of centre-back Simpson while midfielder Ofoborh is also a target.
Not many Bears will have heard of these two players before McAdam’s update on Thursday but the first impressions are quite good.
Many fans are impressed, more than anything, but Ofoborh’s physique.
The 21-year-old central midfielder, who’s represented Nigeria at Under-20 level, has been dubbed an “absolute tank” while other fans are happy to see Gerrard planning for the future.
Here is a selection of their tweets:

Ofoborh has very limited experience in the game but based on how big and strong he looks, he could do well in Scottish football at repelling some of the players who do nothing but try to rough up Gerrard’s players.
The 21-year-old spent last season on loan at Wycombe in England’s League One, helping them win promotion to the Championship by playing 25 times and scoring two goals in all competitions.
It wouldn’t hurt to get some extra strength in depth in the centre of midfield so Ofoborh could be a good option for Gerrard.
As for 24-year-old centre-back Simpson, we’re not sure why we’d need him unless Leon Balogun is released in the summer when his contract expires.
Nikola Katic cannot be too far away from returning from injury while Gerrard also has Filip Helander and Connor Goldson.
George Edmundson’s career at Ibrox looks over but we could still have four senior centre-backs next season if Balogun’s deal is extended.
In other Rangers news, Gerrard could make three changes for the clash with Ross County on Saturday.
