Morelos and Hagi start – Confirmed Rangers team news v Motherwell
Steven Gerrard has made no changes to the Rangers side to face Motherwell at Fir Park following last week’s 2-1 win over Aberdeen.
The side that defeated Aberdeen has another chance to impress and pull even further ahead at the top of the table.
Announced on the club’s Twitter account ahead of kick-off, Gerrard selected a strong side that should have enough to secure the points at Fir Park.
Allan McGregor retains his place in goal with a defence of James Tavernier, Connor Goldson, Leon Balogun and Borna Barisic protecting him.
In the midfield, Joe Aribo, Steven Davis and Glen Kamara sit behind Ianis Hagi, Ryan Kent and Alfredo Morelos as the Colombian looks to continue his fine form in front of goal.
We didn’t expect many changes with Kemar Roofe and Ryan Kent still out injured as this Gers team looks to be relatively settled at the moment.
With Celtic drawing yesterday, Gerrard’s men have a huge opportunity to pull even further away from their Old Firm rivals at the top of the table.
The Gers were successful on their first visit to Fir Park this season as braces from Tavernier and Cedric Itten and a goal from Jordan Jones saw the Light Blues pick up a 5-1 win.
Itten has only scored against Motherwell in the Scottish Premiership so he may be eyeing up a chance to get a few more on the board this afternoon.
It doesn’t matter who gets the goals for Rangers as long as someone does, getting three points is all that matters.
In other Rangers news, one club boss has suggested that transfer negotiations with the Gers have stalled.
