‘Bailed us out’, ‘Top class’ – These Rangers fans awestruck by this player vs M’well
Rangers struggled to a 1-1 draw with Motherwell on Sunday but could have suffered their first league defeat of the season if it wasn’t for a moment of magic from Borna Barisic.
The left-back wasn’t at his usual best, producing just seven successful crosses from his 23 attempts, but he did provide Cedric Itten with the all-important equaliser.
That takes Barisic’s number of assists to seven this season, which is not surprising given the quality of the delivery at Fir Park.
Itten couldn’t miss with his back-post header and although he deserves applauds for his positioning, most supporters instead focused their praise on Barisic.
Several took time out to praise the effectiveness of the full-back’s cross, which came from quite a deep position.
The only drawback is that the Croatian did not produce enough crosses like the one that led to the goal, as Motherwell’s defensive set-up made it difficult to gain success through the middle.
That meant we were a little reliant on Barisic and James Tavernier to produce a moment of quality, which fortunately arrived in the last 20 minutes.
Here are some of the things being said about the late equaliser, with many fans impressed by Barisic’s role in the goal.
