Ibrox View: 22y/o to get start after Gerrard injury update – Rangers predicted XI vs Motherwell

Rangers continued their impressive unbeaten run in the SPFL with a 2-1 win over Aberdeen last week, but face another tricky away clash this weekend.

Motherwell are the opponents and will likely look to frustrate Steven Gerrard’s side in a similar manner to the match at Ibrox earlier this season.

The Gers managed to overcome a 1-0 deficit thanks to three late second-half goals, but that could prove a harder task due to missing personnel.

Kemar Roofe grabbed two goals that day but the forward is still missing, as Steven Gerrard ruled him out for at least two weeks following the injury he sustained against Celtic.

That means Ianis Hagi is likely to be given another start.

James Tavernier missed a penalty against Aberdeen and he’ll want to get back on the scoresheet after that disappointment.

In the last meeting with Motherwell, he made two key contributions, providing excellent crosses that led to our first two goals.

The right-back failed to produce similar service last week, and it was instead Ryan Kent who provided the spark.

Kent and Alfredo Morelos linked up superbly to grab our goals and it is likely Gerrard will stick with the pair, particularly as Jermain Defoe failed to get on the scoresheet in the previous Motherwell fixture.

If that is the case, there are unlikely to be any major changes.

The defence speaks for itself having conceded just two shots on target at Pittodrie, while the sidelined Scott Arfield and Ryan Jack mean Gerrard has few options to mix-up his midfield.

With all of that under consideration, here is our predicted XI for the Motherwell match…
