‘What a signing’ – These Bears thrilled as Gers plot move to sign Scot with ‘real potential’
A number of Rangers fans were delighted to read reports that the club will make a move to sign Aberdeen’s Scott Wright.
Sky Sports News’ Anthony Joseph reported via his personal Twitter account that the Gers will try and lure the player to Ibrox this month.
He claims that Wright is yet to agree a new contract and could yet join the Premiership leaders on a pre-contract agreement ahead of a summer switch.
The left-winger, who turns 24 later this year, has made 13 league appearances for the Dons this season, scoring twice and assisting a further two.
Wright started for Aberdeen during Rangers’ 2-1 win at Pittodrie on Sunday, playing more centrally behind Curtis Main and Sam Cosgrove.
However, he did little to impress and was subbed off just before the hour mark in place of Matthew Kennedy, who went on to score for the home side.
Comfortable playing on the left, right and through the middle, Wright would be a versatile addition to the Rangers squad if he arrives in either January or the summer.
Should he make the move to Ibrox, it would surely raise serious concerns for the long-term futures of either Brandon Barker and Jordan Jones, who have both been on the fringes of the first-team squad this season.
