‘Joy to watch’ – These Rangers fans awestruck by ‘Outstanding’ ace in win v Aberdeen
It may have been Alfredo Morelos who stole the headlines during Rangers’ win away to Aberdeen, but many Gers fans were delighted with the performance of Joe Aribo.
Lining up on the right of a midfield three, Aribo starred in a 2-1 win for the league leaders at Pittodrie.
Throughout the game, Aribo was constantly on the move and would find himself picking up brilliant positions in the Aberdeen half.
The former Charlton man would drift wide and open up space for the likes of James Tavernier and it was that pattern of movement that helped Rangers get their second goal of the game.
Aribo fired a dangerous pass across the face of the penalty box, where Ryan Kent controlled and sent the ball into the path of Morelos, who could fire home to extend the visitor’s lead.
While one complaint of Aribo’s performance could be his inability to shoot that little bit earlier when presented with the opportunity, it was an impressive display from the midfielder.
It was Aribo who forced Callum McGregor’s own goal last time out in the Old Firm and while he did not score this time around, he followed that up with another impressive performance in the middle of the park.
He had a small moment to forget for the Aberdeen goal, but that should not overshadow what was otherwise an outstanding performance.
These Rangers fans on social media were left in awe of the player after the 2-0 win.
