Nikica Jelavic awestruck by ‘Unbelievable’ Rangers figure, makes £100m+ Ibrox claim
Nikica Jelavic has been blown away by the impact of Rangers boss Steven Gerrard since his arrival at Ibrox.
The Bears will extend their lead in the Scottish Premiership to 22 points should they beat Aberdeen on Sunday, something the Croatian is backing his former side to do.
Jelavic believes that the proof is in the pudding and that the squad value soaring over £100million proves that Gerrard is doing everything right.
Speaking to the Daily Record, Jelavic claimed that the Bears will have one hand on the title with three points against Aberdeen on Sunday.
“Rangers are playing very good football under Stevie G who has done an unbelievable job
there,” he said.
“Rangers now have players with a value totalling much more than £100m. So you can see just how good a job he’s done since arriving at Ibrox.
“They’re playing well and I’m so pleased. Hopefully, we can beat Aberdeen and finally put one hand on the trophy.”
The Athletic recently put together the squad value at Ibrox, including some of their brightest talents if they were to ever part ways.
Amazingly, six players equalled up to £80million – who would have thought that when Gerrard first arrived at Ibrox?
“Alfredo Morelos (£13 million), Ryan Kent (£18 million), Borna Barisic (£12 million), Connor Goldson (above, £16 million), Joe Aribo (£11 million) and Glen Kamara (£10 million),” they wrote.
Those were the ones disclosed, so imagine what happens when you add the likes of Ianis Hagi, Kemar Roofe and James Tavernier.
Gerrard has delivered the good times back to the right side of Glasgow since arriving, and the only thing missing is that Scottish Premiership back where it belongs.
