‘They’re human’ – Aberdeen attacker delivers big Rangers warning ahead of Sunday clash

Aberdeen’s Ryan Hedges believes his side can be the team to inflict Rangers’ first league defeat of the season.

Speaking ahead of Sunday’s meeting with the Premiership league leaders, as reported by the Daily Record, Hedges has vowed to improve on Aberdeen’s previous two games against the Gers: “We know they’re a good team but they’re human at the end of the day. Hopefully, we can inflict that first defeat.

“The first game of the season you don’t know where you are in terms of fitness. It was a bad day at the office for all involved.

“For the away game, the preparation with the three lads going away with Scotland Under-21s and missing two weeks wasn’t great. We’re in a better place now going into this game than we were in the previous two.”

The two sides met on the opening day of the new season, with Ryan Kent scoring the only goal of the game way back on matchday one.

While the second meeting was far more comfortable than anyone may have predicted, with the Gers coming out 4-0 winners at Ibrox.

Rangers

Ferguson and Hedges the big Aberdeen threats

Aberdeen certainly have the talent to hurt Rangers if provided with the opportunity and in Hedges and Lewis Ferguson, they have two very dangerous players.

The latter has eight goals from midfield this season and tops the WhoScored charts for average match ratings throughout the Aberdeen squad.

Hedges, meanwhile, has four goals and three assists in the league and will be looking to get the better of Borna Barisic down the right flank for Aberdeen.

The Dons come into the clash in good form as well, losing just once in their last eight league games.

They also know that a shock win against Rangers would really put the pressure on Celtic above them in second place, meaning they have it all to play for.

In other Rangers news, the Gers have made an offer to sign an English player who is also wanted by Celtic
