‘Shocking’ – McCoist puts talkSPORT pundit straight after Rangers claim leaves Bears irate

Ally McCoist has put talkSPORT pundit Jamie O’Hara straight after he attempted to stir Rangers fans up again.

After saying that the Bournemouth job was bigger than the Gers job, O’Hara was at it again on talkSPORT on Thursday, saying that Rangers wouldn’t survive in the Premier League and that Fulham would win the Premiership.

O’Hara did say that Rangers would be top-six if they could survive in the Premier League for a season, but said that wouldn’t happen.

Talking on the Breakfast show (talkSPORT, Thursday, 9.30am), McCoist disagreed, said that the distance between teams in the Premier League is “shocking” and pointed to Rangers’ record in Europe this season.

“I still think the Premier League, the distance between teams is shocking. I still think down at the bottom there are some bang average performances from some average sides,” McCoist said.

“I do think they [Rangers] would survive, I’ll tell you why. I looked at Rangers this season in the Europa League and to get through that campaign undefeated, against a side like Benfica who spent in the region of €90m… and they should have beaten Benfica.

“That tells me they’re at a standard where they’re not out of their depth.”

Clueless

Does O’Hara seriously think that Fulham would top a Europa League group that included Benfica and Standard Liege, let alone stay unbeaten?

And Rangers would easily survive in the Premier League if they had access to anywhere near the money that even the bottom sides in the English top-flight have.

However, O’Hara succeeded in doing what he set out to do – to make Rangers’ fans irate.

And that’s his job on talkSPORT – to say something, whether he believes it or not, and then sit back and wait for the reaction.

Thankfully, McCoist was in the studio to point out what should have been really obvious to any decent pundit.

Has he watched Fulham or West Brom this season?

Here are some reactions from irate Bears who couldn’t stay away from the bait…
