‘Outstanding’, ‘Changed the game’ – Some Bears think Gers ace was responsible for win v Celtic

Rangers fans have taken to Twitter to hail the impact of Ianis Hagi after his impressive cameo in Saturday’s Old Firm victory.

Hagi could consider himself unfortunate to start the Celtic match on the bench after scoring two goals in his last three games, but he did not let that affect him after replacing Kemar Roofe to great effect, as Rangers grew into the game and won it 1-0 through Callum McGregor’s own goal.

His substitution impressed Gers fans, with many saying he “changed the game” as Steven Gerrard’s side went 19 points clear at the top as they bid to end their domestic title drought.

Despite only playing 45 minutes only Ryan Kent (four) made more successful dribbles than Hagi’s two (per WhoScored) as he buzzed around desperate to make an impact on proceedings.

After Roofe’s injury caused his withdrawal from the match Hagi will hope that he has done enough to secure himself a starting role for the Gers next fixture at Aberdeen on January 10.

Considering his recent form and his Celtic contribution on Saturday afternoon, supporters will more than likely be calling for his name on the team sheet as they chase another victory to keep up their outstanding start to the season.
