BBC: Rangers star ‘likely candidate’ to leave should Bears need to generate cash

Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos is a “likely candidate” to leave Ibrox should they look to sell any players in January, according to the BBC.

It is suggested on their website that the Colombian international could generate cash if they need to raise funds immediately.

In the latest AGM at Ibrox, it was confirmed that the Bears could need to start selling one or two players each year to stay afloat financially.

Where could Morelos go?

Lille have been strongly linked with the striker in recent years, and that is the only option put on the table once again in this BBC report.

It is suggested that the French club wanted to seal a move in the summer and could return for the South American this month.

The Athletic recently dropped a list of what each player is valued at Rangers, and interestingly Morelos was third on the list behind Ryan Kent and Conor Goldson.

It was suggested that the Bears would take a minimum of £13million to part ways with the troublesome Colombian.

Exit now more possible.

With Kemar Roofe now hitting top form in the Scottish Premiership, it makes much more sense that Morelos could be allowed to leave Ibrox.

Last season, it was simply impossible for the Bears to let the 24-year-old leave Glasgow, as he was simply undroppable and had no replacements.

Roofe is really starting to hit the ground running, and should his injury against Celtic not be too serious, he could easily chase down James Tavernier to the Golden Boot.

Add to that, Cedric Itten also adds more depth and is slowly finding his feet after a difficult start to life in the Light Blues jersey.

Morelos doesn’t need to leave, and it would be a boost if he stayed, but it would certainly be hard to say no to a bid over £10million should it come in this month.
