‘No excuses’ – Gerrard confirms Rangers injury news for huge clash v Celtic
Steven Gerrard has delivered a key Rangers fitness update ahead of the much-anticipated Old Firm clash on Saturday.
In Friday’s pre-match press conference, Gerrard confirmed that Rangers are suffering from a few injuries but said there were “no excuses” ahead of the game.
The good news is that Gerrard said that there were no new injury issues to his squad and that everyone at the club is looking forward to the game.
He said his players are “ready to go”.
Gerrard was quoted on the official Rangers Twitter page ahead of Saturday’s Premiership blockbuster.
Tav the man
Scott Arfield and Ryan Jack will be missing from Saturday’s game but the good news is that there are no new injury issues.
That means a strong Rangers XI incoming and we expect to see all the big guns start the game.
We expect Alfredo Morelos to lead the line, with Ryan Kent and Kemar Roofe on the wings.
We’re expecting to see Joe Aribo, Steven Davis and Glen Kamara all retain their starting places in midfield.
The key player could be James Tavernier, who has recorded ridiculous numbers already this season, with 17 goals and 14 assists across all competitions this season.
If he can get on the scoresheet again at Ibrox then we think Rangers will take the three points and move 19 points clear at the top of the Premiership.
