‘Three points or a point’ – Lennon hasn’t thought about losing Old Firm clash to Rangers

Celtic boss Neil Lennon has claimed that he hasn’t even thought about losing this weekend’s vital Old Firm clash against Rangers.

The Hoops have recovered some form ahead of the derby after experiencing a rotten run of results earlier in the season.

Lennon has talked up his side’s chances of getting a positive result at Ibrox on Saturday and added that he is looking forward to the clash.

Rangers

Lennon is quoted by Sky Sports as saying, “We are not even contemplating losing the game.

“You don’t want to lose it, you want to get a positive result, either three points or a point. We are going there with a positive frame of mind and we have to play, and we have to play a lot better than we did here in October.

“I wouldn’t say I am relaxed about it, you never are going into a game like this, but we are looking forward to it.”

Rangers

Defeat for Celtic would be an almost terminal blow to their title chances while a win would open the door for a potential Hoops comeback.

Lennon may claim that a point is a positive result against the Gers but in reality, only a win will do for his side.

Rangers will be favourites going into the clash as the only unbeaten team in the Scottish Premiership and on a fourteen game winning streak in the league.

Celtic are unlikely to turn in as poor as a performance as they mustered in the first Old Firm of this season where they failed to register a shot on target.

The Bhoys will go to Ibrox thinking that they can get a win but if recent form is anything to by, Rangers should play them off the park.

It isn’t quite a cup final but Steven Gerrard knows that if his side can gain another three points on Celtic then the league will be as good as won.

Hopefully, Gerrard shows these arrogant Lennon quotes to his players to provide a bit of extra motivation ahead of Saturday’s game.

In other Rangers news, Gerrard has claimed there will be ‘no sentiment’ in his Gers team selection against Celtic.
