With Steven Gerrard’s side due to meet their local rivals on Saturday, the website is predicting a home victory at Ibrox, in what promises to be a season-defining afternoon.

There is a 25% chance of a Celtic victory and a 23% chance of a draw being played out between the two sides.

Ahead of the game, the Gers face off against St Mirren on Wednesday night, meanwhile Celtic have a home game against Dundee United.

Rangers

A win that should end all doubt for Rangers

If Rangers can come away with all three points against Celtic, then they would surely be putting one hand on the trophy ahead of the second half of the season.

As things stand, FiveThirtyEight are currently predicting Rangers to finish first in the Scottish Premiership by a whopping 13 points.

Gerrard’s men are poised to finish on 99 points with a goal difference of +79.

Celtic are being backed to finish second on 86 points, but do have a 3% chance of finishing in third place.

The Hoops have been given just a 10% chance of overturning their huge points deficit ahead of the derby.

With Rangers already such heavy favourites, a win over Celtic would come as a crushing blow to Neil Lennon’s side.
