Rangers picked up another three points on Saturday, fighting their way past Hibernian in a tight 1-0 win.
Steven Gerrard made the one change, bringing Leon Balogun into his defence to deal with the pace of the away side in the final third.
That meant that Ianis Hagi kept his spot alongside Kemar Roofe and Ryan Kent, and it was the Romanian who scored the winner.
That is bad news for Kent.
The 24-year-old extended his goalless streak to five games, but he has only scored the one in his last 20 outings for the Bears.
Kent is much better than that, and he is crying out for a rest ahead of next week’s Old Firm clash with Celtic at Ibrox.
According to WyScout, the winger failed to complete any of his crosses, shots on target and lost the ball 13 times against Hibs.
Gerrard will have been demanding more, but Kent only managed to complete three of his nine dribbles in the final third.
It was a disasterclass.
Many Rangers have reacted to the performance of the 24-year-old, and have demanded that he be dropped for the game at St. Mirren.
Alex McLeish has thrown his support behind Kent, claiming that he expects him to come up with a massively important goal sooner rather than later.
With Celtic around the corner, it could be very smart to give Kent the axe on Wednesday to drop a timely reminder ahead of the biggest game of the season.
