Rangers could be about to land an unexpected boost from Hibernian ahead of their Boxing Day clash at Ibrox.
According to a report from The Scotsman, the away side will be without striker Christian Doidge, who was sent off against St Mirren on Wednesday night and is now suspended for the game.
As well as Doidge, Hibs could be without both Ofir Marciano and midfielder Kyle Magennis, who both suffered knocks against St Mirren.
The former was forced off with a hamstring injury and may not be risked against the league leaders.
Doidge a huge miss for Hibs
Doidge is a man in form, so to have him miss the game will come as a timely boost for the Gers.
The Welsh striker has scored three in his last five and put in a Man of the Match display against Hamilton recently.
He has 11 goals in all competitions this season so far and found the back of the net during the last meeting between the two sides – a 2-2 draw at the end of September.
Hibs boss Jack Ross remains confident that the away side can do a number on Rangers without one of their star forwards, but it will be a huge task to overcome the Gers, who put in a mature performance to beat St Johnstone 3-0 on Wednesday.
