Many Rangers fans have lauded Connor Goldson for his performance in the first half against St Mirren on Wednesday night.
Goldson scored for the second time in two games after notching his side’s second against Dundee United at the weekend.
Tonight’s goal was simply sensational as Goldson picked up the ball outside of the box before driving forward and smashing the ball past the St Mirren keeper.
The finish put the Gers in a great position to secure a win that would give the club a place in the semi-finals of the Scottish League Cup.
Rangers are without star man Alfredo Morelos tonight after he picked up a two-game suspension yesterday.
Some fans have suggested that Goldson should be put in charge of the Colombian’s shooting drills in training while the defender experiences this purple patch.
The goal was the defender’s sixth in all competitions this season as he is proving that he can perform at both ends of the pitch.
He was the hero in this season’s Old Firm with his brace at Celtic Park and he is on his way to replicating his heroics in one of the domestic cups.
Many Gers fans were in awe of Goldson’s goal with some seeing similarities between the Englishman and former Rangers defender Madjid Bougherra who also loved a goal.
Another fan admitted that he was wrong about the Gers star after wanting the player dropped last season, it’s fair to say that that won’t be happening anytime soon.
Here is how some Rangers fans reacted to Goldson’s goal…
I was in the ‘Drop Goldson’ camp last season and can honestly say he is making me eat my words
