Morelos sends Instagram message to Bears after Dundee Utd horror show
Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos has taken to Instagram following his poor display on Sunday against Dundee United.
The Colombian striker was far from his best and lucky not to be sent off against United after appearing to clash with Mark Connolly.
After the game, he posted a message on his official Instagram which translates to, “Be strong because things will get better, maybe there is a storm now, but the rain does not last forever.”
Morelos has only scored three times in the Scottish Premiership this season, with his place in Steven Gerrard’s attack beginning to come under threat.
The 24-year-old’s antics did not go unnoticed by those watching on either, with Kris Boyd claiming that the player was lucky to stay on the pitch after his incident with Connolly.
Meanwhile, Sky Sports commentator Ian Crocker claimed Morelos kicked the pitch-side gate as he was taken off.
Is the pressure getting to Morelos?
Morelos could be feeling the pressure at Rangers this season, with his place in the team now seriously being questioned.
As per Wyscout, Morelos failed to have a shot on target on Sunday. While he also only won 33% of his duels and completed 33% of his dribbles on what was an afternoon to forget for the Colombian.
The form of both Kemar Roofe and Ryan Kent this season has meant there is less of a reliance on Morelos for goals.
Cedric Itten has also impressed in recent weeks and may feel like he has earned a starting spot for Gerrard’s side.
His lack of goals have shown that he is not indispensable, so Morelos needs to rediscover his best form quickly or he could fall out of the side.
