'Very, very good team' - Poznan star makes claim that will have Gers fans dreaming

Jakub Kaminski is predicting a successful Europa League run for Steven Gerrard’s Rangers after they came out as Group D winners on Thursday night.

A comfortable 2-0 win ensured that Rangers go into Monday’s draw as one of the seeded teams, as they prepare to learn their opponents for the Round of 32.

Speaking after the game, as reported by the Daily Record, Kaminski said: “We had a good enough start, but Rangers settled into the game, set the pace and were much better than us.

“We have to be realistic and honest and say Rangers are a very, very good team. They are tactically well-organised and everyone in their team knows their roles and what to do. They will go a long way in the competition.”

Rangers managed to qualify from the group unscathed, winning four of their six games and drawing the other two.

Fear nobody

Confidence is no doubt going to be high among Rangers supporters after the group stages of the competition.

It was a group that they would have hoped to progress from, but to win it in such convincing style ahead of Portuguese giants Benfica epitomises the good form the Gers have enjoyed this season.

Gerrard will no doubt be looking to make amends following last season’s exit from the Europa League.

After seeing their second leg against Bayer Leverkusen delayed by five months following the Coronavirus pandemic, there could a sense of ‘what if’ when looking back on the tie.

There should not be any such problems this time around for Rangers, who head into the knockout stages in incredible form.

Being seeded will give them every chance of getting into the Round of 16 again. Anything beyond that would be a dream for the Gers.
