Many Rangers fans are poking fun at Celtic after the Gers’ youth side was beaten by the Hoops’ youth side in the Glasgow Cup.

Celtic won 3-0 against a Gers youth side that featured Ciaran Dickson, Leon King and Glenn Middleton on Monday afternoon.

While the result is disappointing, many Rangers fans used the opportunity to poke fun at their Old Firm rivals who have been protesting against their club in recent weeks.

Celtic fans have been gathering outside Parkhead to protest against their board who are currently supporting under-fire boss Neil Lennon.

In the past few weeks, Celtic have exited the Europa League and were embarrassingly knocked out of the Scottish League Cup by Ross County, a side that Rangers easily dispatched on Sunday.

The Hoops have also fallen further behind the Gers in the title race as their poor form has opened up a 13 point gap between the Old Firm rivals.

The protests boiled over at one point and police were called in to keep control of the crowds outside Celtic Park.

Following Monday’s result, many Gers fans jokingly suggested that they were going to protest outside Ibrox in response to the south side’s defeat to Celtic.

One fan jokingly said ‘sack the board’ after the result with another saying ‘on my way to the car park as we speak’.

In other Rangers news, Lech Poznan’s manager has given the Gers a huge boost ahead of Thursday’s European clash.
