‘Show more respect’ – Derek Ferguson slams Rangers ace after incident in Aberdeen win

Derek Ferguson has slammed Rangers forward Alfredo Morelos for his tantrum after being replaced in the 4-0 win over Aberdeen.

The Colombian international stormed off and failed to acknowledge Jermain Defoe, throwing his gloves on the floor when leaving the field.

Ferguson claimed that Morelos needs to show more respect to Steven Gerrard and his teammates at Ibrox with basic manners.

Speaking on the Blues Brothers podcast, Ferguson destroyed the South American and claimed that he doesn’t need to rock the boat within the Bears camp.

“You’ve got to show more respect,” he said.

“I was actually really annoyed. When he’s getting taken off, it’s for a reason. We’ve got a big game coming up and also pay respect to the other boys.

“Shake the guy’s hand, look him in the eye and wish him all the best. We don’t need any of that sort of stuff because everything’s going swimmingly.”

Steven Gerrard was also baffled by Morelos’ reaction, claiming that he couldn’t understand why his striker reacted in that way.

“Alfredo wasn’t happy to go off? Is he ever! I can’t work it out.  We’re 4-0 up, we’ve played well,” he said.

As Gerrard said, it made no sense.

With a crunch clash against Benfica coming up, Morelos will be expected to play a massive role, so a 25-minute rest could have done him well.

The Bears are flying right now, and there is no reason for the Colombian to be so upset. Yes, he didn’t find the back of the net, but he is in the thick of the action and he needs to realise that.
