‘Excellent signing’, ‘Level above everyone’ – Some Rangers fans wowed with one player v Aberdeen

Plenty of Rangers fans were impressed with the performance of Kemar Roofe against Aberdeen as he bagged his fifth league goal of the season.

The Gers’ 4-0 win over the Dons gave them an 11-point lead at the top of the Scottish Premiership, although Celtic still have two games in hand.

After Ryan Kent opened the scoring, Roofe made it two before half-time following a mazy run from his position on the right wing.

Predominantly a striker throughout his career, Steven Gerrard has shifted him to the right during the last two matches in a bid to add more goals to his side. Roofe has taken to the role well and had a couple of nice link ups with centre-forward Alfredo Morelos against Aberdeen. After a nice showing against Hamilton Academical in the same position, he is certainly in line for a start in the role against Benfica on Thursday.

In eight Scottish Premiership appearances, Roofe has five goals and one assist, averaging two shots and 0.8 key passes per game (via WhoScored). He has also attempted 1.2 dribbles per 90, a part of his game he will be looking to improve if he plays out wide more often (via WhoScored).

In reaction to his performance, a number of Rangers fans hailed the former Leeds United man, dubbing him an “excellent signing” and a “level above”. One fan even suggested that he had not yet reached his best form, an exciting prospect for Gers supporters for sure.
