‘MOTM’, ‘We have got a bargain’ – Many Rangers fans thrilled by ‘Brilliant’ player in win v Dons
Rangers fans were blown away by Scott Arfield’s performance on Sunday as the midfielder scored and assisted in the 4-0 win over Aberdeen at Ibrox.
Steven Gerrard’s side moved 11 points clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership table with a comprehensive victory over the Dons, who were rocked by injuries and COVID-19 ahead of their trip to Glasgow.
Even though Derek McInnes was without a few key players, it was still up to Rangers to produce a professional performance against Aberdeen – and Arfield played a major role in that happening.
The 32-year-old assisted Ryan Kent’s goal in the first half before finding the back of the net himself via a deflection off Aberdeen defender Tommie Hoban.
While there was a bit of fortune about Arfield’s goal, it was great to see the Canada international on the scoresheet for a second match in a row after he scored against Hamilton before the international break.
And it wasn’t just Arfield’s goal and assist that had him touted as the man of the match by Rangers fans with the ex-Burnley ace completing 85 per cent of his passes and having more possession of the ball than any other player in the match at 8.5 per cent [WhoScored].
Arfield dominated the game and Rangers fans have been waxing lyrical about him since.
Here is a selection of their tweets:

Rangers have so many midfield players who are on top of their game at the moment and Arfield, as one supporter pointed out, is going “under the radar” at Ibrox.
He deserves as much praise as Ryan Jack and Glen Kamara are getting.
In other Rangers news, the Gers could be forced to shell out a seven-figure fee to Mike Ashley.
