Ibrox View: 97% pass accuracy – This Rangers star was near perfect on int’l duty
Rangers midfielder Ryan Jack was exceptional for his country as Scotland lost 1-0 to Israel in the UEFA Nations League.
Jack has been in sparkling form for his club and country this season and he played a key role as Scotland qualified for Euro 2020 by beating Serbia last week.
Scotland couldn’t follow that result up with a win against Israel but Jack still made the most of the occasion and made sure he will return to Ibrox as a man in form when club football resumes this weekend.
Some of the stats Jack registered against Israel are seriously impressive.
According to Wyscout, the 28-year-old registered a 97% passing accuracy on Wednesday night which is simply brilliant. For context, Jack attempted 66 passes and only misplaced two.
He even impressed with his long passing with 67% of his attempted long passes finding their target. This is higher than his season average of 46.1% long pass completion rate.
Defensively, Jack shone. The Rangers midfielder won 100% of his aerial duels against Israel and made five interceptions.
He was also successful with 67% of his total defensive duels. It certainly seems Jack did his best to top the opposition scoring and without him, the scoreline could have been less flattering on Scotland.
Jack’s heatmap shows how he was absolutely everywhere for Scotland. We see him do this for Rangers as well as he tends to cover every blade of grass in the midfield when he plays.
The Gers ace even managed to complete a progressive run against Israel as he showed off both his offensive and defensive qualities.
Overall, across Jack’s 97-minute appearance 84% of his total actions were successful meaning he rarely put a foot wrong despite not being able to help his country win.
This will serve Rangers well on his return to club footballs the Gers look to maintain their unbeaten start to the season in their game against Aberdeen this weekend.
In other Rangers news, a different Gers player had a very poor international outing despite his country’s success.
