‘Defoe hat trick’, ‘Easy win’ – These Rangers fans saying same thing about upcoming fixture
Plenty of Rangers fans are supremely confident of the Gers chances in their Betfred Cup tie against Scottish League One side Falkirk.
Steven Gerrard’s side will play their first Scottish League Cup tie of the season against the side sitting second in the third tier, with two wins and two draws from their opening four matches.
Rangers are currently top of the Scottish Premiership and unbeaten in all competitions so far this season, but could use this fixture to rotate and experiment with some of their less experienced players.
The tie is scheduled to take place on November 28, two days after Rangers take on Benfica at Ibrox in the Europa League.
With both sides tied on points at the top of group D, this represents a crucial match in the club’s season and will likely further influence selection ahead of the match up at Falkirk Stadium.
The 2004-built ground has an artificial pitch, which could create a further challenge for Gerrard’s side but they do have some recent experience, having played at Kilmarnock’s Rugby Park just last month.
The fixture was announced by Rangers on Twitter, and plenty of fans were quick to respond.
Plenty branded the meeting as a comfortable win for the Gers, with one even predicting a hat-trick for Jermain Defoe.
Here are some of the best responses.
