Ibrox View: Jack Wilshere admission proves Rangers could be perfect move

Rangers target Jack Wilshere has claimed that he wants to join a team that dominates possession every week to suit his style.

PA Sports journalist Andy Newport has claimed that the 28-year-old is willing to consider a move to Ibrox after his contract at West Ham was terminated.

Wilshere would be free to join the Light Blues, given that he is a free agent but his wages could be a problem given his high-earner status.

Wilshere has opened up on what he wants from his next move, and a team which dominates possession with a quality manager appears to be the one.

“I’ve played a few games, but not enough,” he told the Super 6 podcast.

“Sometimes there’s not a place for a player like me, who wants to get on the ball. I’m happy with how things worked out, and now, I’m in a position where I can actually pick what I want and where I want it to be.

“I’ve said it before if you’re not in a top-six side in England, you don’t have the ball. I want to play for a team where the majority of the time I want to be on the ball and try and make things happen, so, I’m open to anything.

“I just want to pick the right one with a good manager.”

rangersThis surely puts the ball in Rangers’ court.

Wilshere has simply described everything that the Bears could give him, and he will surely have been impressed with the way they dispatched Hamilton on Sunday.

Steven Gerrard has implemented his style at Ibrox perfectly, with his dominating style one of the reasons behind why they are nine points clear in the league without losing a single game this season.

The Hamilton game is a perfect example, the Bears had 76.6% of the ball, had 24 shots on goal compared to the Accies’ zero and still came off the pitch disappointed they didn’t score more.

Imagine games like that but with Wilshere on the pitch, the free-agent would add even more creativity to this Gers side – making them very dangerous.

Gerrard would surely love to add Wilshere to his side, and it appears as though he wouldn’t mind the switch to Glasgow himself.
